The Last of the Dogmen.
I want to ask again for forgiveness. I have again let my passion run away from me. But when I hear that we as a people need to; "love chickens," "have rear seat riders be belted," "must be 12 to ride a ATV." I just got to say where is the reality! I say this is the real danger. I say that the evil empire came to the realization that conquest by force would not work, but slow regulation, by regulation creeping socialism is the way to go. There is almost not one thing left from my childhood which is legal anymore. It seems that with me I was always one step ahead of the new laws, and I grew up the old way, while those just a few years younger got the socialized version. A socialism which is growing worse everyday. One of the subjects I want to communicate by this blog-site is that we had more individual freedoms just a short time ago. And that the past 35 years, from my experience and perhaps since the L.B. Johnson era, we have just given away our individual freedoms over to the government one by one. It is my true belief that on the whole the American citizen had more individual freedom in 1967 than they do now. Freedoms have been removed from the individual to "save the children," when I was a child back in 67' the good ol' government wasn't worried about children then. It was the parents job. That's the way it should be now. Since that time the individual American has slowly lost individual rights. I like to use 1967 as my bench mark for thats the first year I become aware of my self, and in 1968 was the first year when side marker lights required on American automobiles, and the first year the parking lights stayed on with the headlights. As some might remember most automobiles made in 1967 and before the "parking lights" turned off when the headlights came on. This was changed because of the first steps of government regulations, the only good thing was that I knew when my mother was comming home. In 1974 due to that law I could indentify my mother's 1963 Ford from a the end of the road due to that change in the law. My father worked for the county and was issued a 1970 Chevy Bel-Air, a model was once the cream of the crop, but just 13 years from it's zenith the Bel-Air line was reduced from the best Chevy of 1957 to the most plain cop car of 1970. The only induring feature of the Bel-Air line is that it had a 140 mph speedo. So this is why maybe I do have an anger of whats going on. It just seems that the American public started to give up individual freedoms starting in 1968, and now we as a nation are giving up freedoms to an ever increasing socialist world.
